The mighty onion. So powerful it sometimes even makes us cry, eh?

When you think about it, our humble friend forms the basis of so many of our home-cooking and recipes, its hard to imagine any cuisine around the world without it. 

I mean, what would a fairground or market be like without the smell of frying onions?
