The veg A-lister counterpart to the avocado.

What makes this dark, leafy green so special that it gets to have its name emblazoned across Beyonce's sweatshirt, eh? The poor old turnip and humble carrot Z-Listers turned away at the door, firmly on the veg cutting room floor.

Just like avocados, kale is packed full of vitamins and antioxidants though, so its veggie fame shouldn’t just be boiled down to mean green smoothies and celebrity endorsements.

Throw in a pan and toss around in garlicky oil, pour over some boiling water so it wilts, then add in some soy and oyster sauce. There you have it! A delicious, super healthy Chinese-style side.
